What have they done to Jesus?

As Mary was watching them crucify Him
Tears whaled up in her eyes.
“Look what they’re doing to Jesus.”
That was her heart-breaking cry.
They mocked Him, scourged Him,
Put a wreath of thorns on His head.
“Oh-Look what they’ve done to Jesus!”
And then he was dead.
“Look what they’ve done to Jesus,
Look at the blood that was shed,
Look at the cross of Calvary
OH, My Savior is dead!”
Heartbroken and confused Mary went to her home
And all she could think about was his tomb.
Early in the morning, gathering spices, some rags and afraid
Mary went to the place were He was laid.
“Look where they put our Jesus,
Look at the place of doom.
Her heart was rekindled
As she approached the opened tomb.
The stone was rolled away
The guards were found asleep.
"OH where is my Jesus, and what did they do?"
The words too hard to be true.
Can you imagine her heartache?
Can you imagine the grief?
But words can not describe
The truth of our belief.
For the angels told
What they did to Jesus
Was just what men do to Him today.
For the penalty of sin was paid.
Blood was shed for our sins
Mercy and grace is offered in our place.
So remember what you do to Jesus
Remember the blood that was shed.
Remember the Cross of Calvary
And most of all remember
Jesus isn’t dead
